INFO/FAQ       Return to the Program Shedule Grid for WBAI

I'm a fan
This great station has been going through a lot of changes of late. I wanted an up-to-date schedule with hyperlinks to producers sites and show descriptions all in one place. No one else was doing it, so I took on the project, wanting to give a bit back to the producers and listener-suporters of this station, for all they've given everyone over the years.

What is it?
BAI subscribers used to get a printed show schedule/magazine called the folio. It was like a lefty TV guide. This stopped several years ago. I guess you can call this my attempt at an online folio, though I suspect that the term "folio" should be reserved for the station's own if they ever gets around to doing it themselves.

I'm packing as much info as I can on this page, while hopefully keeping it clear, easy to use, and not too bloated to load quickly. I do listen to BAI a lot, but I know nothing about some of these shows, and I am depending on info in websites that may be way out of date or inaccurate. Clue me in where you see lapses. I took the official WBAI schedule as listed here on wbai.org, and the links as listed here in deoxy.org/wbai/ as a start. Then I did a lot of Google advanced searches etc. and made this grid. I'm also listening for those rare on-air cross-promos and taking info from them whenever I can. Spelling help is welcome on the names of new folks who are not yet listed on the official WBAI staff page

Send Me your info
Any producers who have sites, email addresses or succinct show descriptions that you would like linked here, just let me know. (You can even link to sites selling your books, tapes of whatever) Anyone with useful information is welcome to send it to me. I've sent emails to all the shows that I've linked to, asking for feedback, show info and links, only a few have responded. If If any fan has some short, sweet way of describing a favorite show that I've yet to describe, let me know. gametone@wrybread.com

People who have helped
Armand DiMele has helped spread the word about this page. Mike Levine and Mya Shone have given welcome feedback. And other's such as R Paul Martin and Ken Gale have suggested links. Pamela Somers has been very helpful with her suggestions on web design accessibility. Moderator Gil over at the Goodlight board has also given some very helpful advice. The first producer to give me a linkback was Gary Null. Thanks to Alice his webmaster. Eco-Logic and Back of the Book have just done the same. Also thanks to co-moderators on goodlight.net/wbai: Frank Fitzgerald and Michael Leipsner (Michael recently sent me his extensive collection of WBAI links and email addresses)

Controversies
As you may be able to tell from my Pacifica/WBAI links section, I'm in favor of all sides in the station controversies having their say, in the hope of long term health for WBAI/Pacifica. I love this station, but I am in no way affiliated with it, or with any particular faction in the controversies.

Huh?
Gametone is pronounced gamma tone, and it's wry bread not rye bread. Visit my weblog.
