Stuff We Covet:

Date Added What Entered By How Much Notes Edit
05-08-2005 Trimetric Battery Monitor Alec $180.00 Snazzy battery monitor, tells you very detailed (1/100th of an amp) and accurate power consumption and charging in digital readout, as well as battery voltage and percentage full. Also shows time until batteries are dead at current draw rate. Really nice to have and would look oh so snazzy next to our current control panel. It's the absolute standard in solar charging systems, everyone loves them. I've had one in Lester for about a year now and couldn't live without it in Lester. Here's a page on it, but note that we can find a better price. page.
05-09-2005 external speakers Alec $0.00 Some speakers outside. We could just put the little RAdio Shack speakers in the outside doors? Would be nice to have speakers on both sides... I HAVE A PAIR TO DONATE - sAM
05-09-2005 carpeting or linolium Alec $0.00 Recarpet or swap it out for linoleum? Either way I think the driving area should be carpeted. We can use the carpet in Lester as a model. I SAY WE GO ASTRO TURF - sAM
05-09-2005 kitchen stuff Alec $0.00 A good teflon fry pan, bowls, etc. Thriftshop here we come.
05-09-2005 fold up chairs Alec $0.00 Those fold up chairs for outdoor lounging. I DONATED ONE FOLD UP CHAIR - sAM
12-13-2006 Mopeds.... Alec $300.00 Would be nice to have a couple of decent running mopeds... Nothing but Puch for me.

Total for all the coveted stuff = $480

Chinook Projects:

Date Added What Entered By Notes Edit
05-09-2005 Roof Rack Alec Should we build it out of aluminum to keep things light? And ideally we'd use the existing (crappy) roof rack's foundation as support.
05-09-2005 TUNE UP!!! Alec We need to do a tune up and replace all the crap we might not be able to get down there. Keep it from not starting some morning out in the middle of nowhere because of a clogged fuel pump.
05-09-2005 deadbolts on front doors Alec A realy great security system is to take off the window cranks and put a dead bolt on the front doors. Unless you climb through the broken glass of the window, you're not getting in that way. True people can still get in if they *really* want to, but it's a really simple thing to do to make things much harder in cities and during storage. Trouble is it's hard to find a sprint activated deadbolt.
05-09-2005 moped racks Alec Moped racks. For the front, we can just use the little loop style moped racks. Is it possible to get one on the back?
05-09-2005 get the moped running Alec I have two bikes that can go with the Wookie: a Puch which is great but needs a couple of things replaced due to rust from riding on the beach at low tide, and a Honda Elite 80cc with a slightly bent frame. The Honda is much heavier and ideally would go on teh back (it affects driving when it's on the front).
05-11-2005 install inverter Alec Install a cheapass Costco 300 watt inverter somewhere in the AC electrical line. I figure just patch it in, and the existing AC outlets (I think there are two) will be live. Have a remote switch to turn the inverter off and on so we don't need to look at it. Ideally we could remote mount the inverter's status light next to the switch so we don't leave it on accidentally.
